WHAT’S IT ABOUT?
The Keith Gilmore Foundation, established in 1987, awards scholarships every year to young people studying in the fields of Agriculture. Students from across Canada have benefited through this program. Since its inception, the Foundation has awarded approximately $195,000 for more than 150 scholarships.
HOW IS IT FINANCED – HOW CAN YOU HELP?
All of the funds available have been donated. The Foundation is governed by a volunteer Board of Trustees who set policy and award scholarships. A high percentage of the financing has come from purebred and commercial cattlmen, many of whom are affiliated with the Hereford breed. Funds are raised in a variety of ways, including:
- Private Donations
- Heifer, Embryo and Flush Auctions
- Travel Experience and Services Auctions
- Consideration of KGF in one’s last will and testament, or donations to KGF in lieu of flowers
As the principal of the fund continues to grow, investment income provides additional revenue for scholarships annually.
You are assured that 100 per cent of your donations are used directly to the benefit of Agricultural students. It is the policy of the Trustees not to deplete the principal of the fund so there is no danger The Keith Gilmore Foundation will lose its ability to continue to assist young people.
